Nick Ellerby
Bespoke Support
Nick is usually invited to help at the intersection of strategy, relationship, potential and culture. His approach is grounded in respect for the unique dynamics of each family, acknowledging the need for attention to where people really are and what truly matters.
He is experienced in the intricate transitions, unexpected phases, and the pursuit of freedom and responsibility within business. He understands the importance of the past, the need for enduring economics and sustainability, and the current realities that provide a crucible for both extraordinary possibility and what at times can feel like insurmountable obstacles.
‘Having grown up in a small family business, I was encouraged to learn and venture out into the world. I went on to study physics, psychology, human relations and education. Experience in organisational leadership and individual, team, and cultural development led to me co-founding Oasis. This shaped my understanding of the important questions inherent in business and life.
In the 90s I was invited to consult for a fourth-generation international family business and support a royal household. This experience initiated a continuous thread of work that I love, family businesses facing real questions on the edge of their experience, that when approached with curiosity, fairness and skill, open the doors to development at every level’
Nick’s work includes year-long inquiry processes with NxTGeN from multiple families and serving as a confidante, coach, and facilitator for the leaders of several Families in Business. His ongoing commitment to this work reflects a source of inspiration, respect, and deep engagement. He is chair of the Windsor Castle Leadership Dialogue, senior advisor to the GRLI, and co-director of Oasis.
Nick lives with Marion in Boston Spa, Yorkshire. They have two daughters and two grandchildren who bring joy. He loves travel, people, reading, live music and writing.
