The next generation of family business is Courageous, Bold, Open, Particapatory      

We offer support and development for Next Gens who want to connect, learn and develop themselves with confidence, with intention and with curiosity. 

Next Gens can face a whole host of questions and exciting choices, not only about their own place in the world but how they navigate the unique challenges and opportunities of being part of a family in business - it can be complex, messy and confusing, adventurous, exciting, life changing…

Together, we aim to support Next Gens to explore their questions, discover what’s important to them and develop skills and tools in a safe, collaborative space, either 1-1 or alongside both peers and professionals to enable them to approach their futures, their networks and their business families with confidence.

When exploring the future, Next Gen members might have questions about:

Purpose, careers, transition points: What do I want to do? What’s needed, what’s wanted and what’s possible? How do I get to where I want to be?

Business, family & peer relationships: How do I build strong and effective relationships? What do I want that to look like, now and in the future? Developing and sustaining.

Governance, innovation, regeneration: Building knowledge and understanding of both ‘how things work around here?’ and ‘what is there out there?’

Guardianship, stewardship, legacy: How do I navigate what these mean to me and find my place?

We’re invited to support Next Gen by family businesses that:

  • want to support individuals to find their best possible paths

  • nurture future stewards, owners, employees, leaders or whatever is possible inside or outside the organisation

  • care about giving the time and space for Next Gen to explore and work with questions, to find their purpose, shape their roles and find their place in the family business or business family

  • want to foster effective relationships with the Next Gen

  • encourage a network of peers

  • are engaged with questions around sustainability, regeneration and a more values-led economy.

We co-design to the specific needs of each family, preparing the younger or rising generation for roles within the family business or empowering them to forge their own emergent careers or atypical paths. This personalised touch extends to developing future and current board or council members, ensuring they are not only well-prepared in human skills but also constantly connected to evolving sector insights.

We know that one size does not fit all. Our bespoke offerings go beyond the conventional, encompassing a holistic approach to maintaining a steadfast connection between the next generation and the family business, helping leaders think differently about what might work, and encouraging the voices of all to be in the relationship.
