The Compass

A programme that helps Next Genners to navigate the complexities of family business & connect to their inner sense of orientation.

The Compass has been specifically designed as an in depth development programme for Next Gen. It comprises four retreats, each lasting for two days, which focus in turn on a core aspect of life as part of a family in business:

  • Building meaningful relationships: personal, family, business

  • The changing context of family business in the wider world

  • Personal leadership and direction: skills for what lies ahead

  • Action Planning: What’s the future I want to make for myself?

In addition, you will have access to an experienced coach and a peer-group of Next Gen, to support you to reveal an inner compass to guide you towards the future you want.

On The Compass you will:

  • Locate you in your family business, realities, roles, and ways of working

  • Connect to your inner compass to help guide you in decision-making for work and life

  • Co-create your next meaningful steps

  • Work alongside people who share similar questions, adventures and challenges

  • Build confidence and skills to bring out your best self

  • Be facilitated and supported by experienced facilitators and contributors accomplished in business, personal development and transformative change.

We will arrange an introductory call, please fill in the information below to start the process:

For individuals who already have roles within a family business and for those who find themselves at an important choice point: The Compass invites a diverse group of people on a development process that most probably will change perceptions and sow the seeds for making powerful decisions.

The programme has been influenced by conversations with Next Gen, family business insiders, experienced programme developers and our consultative group.

It builds on three previous programmes Oasis offered in London and the North of England. One of the facilitators was Jonathan Wild, a major shareholder and previous Executive Chair of Bettys and Taylors Group. As an example of succession, his daughter Chloe Benest, is a facilitator on this new programme.
